Friday seance
our blanket covering
the mirror’s crack.

Pond mirror
a frog with the measure
of an incoming fly.

In the mirror
a sprinkle of strangers
around Father’s wake.

Bedroom mirror
night cream jars
bright in autumn sun.

Bedroom mirror
from a bad dream
the opening door.

Kimono geisha
netting a butterfly
then freeing her.

Red silk kimono
each sleeve holding
a grandchild’s gift.

Blushed green
among the patio ferns
her white silk kimono.

Hunting for green fly
the salmon slide silently
shaped by the water.

Boy’s tennis ball
the hallway vase
tipped to fall.
