Poem 1083

Sundial garden
the silent magpie
hearing the worm turn.

Garden
gathered at the sundial
shadows that die.

Sundial garden
after the cat fight
she sweeps the loose gravel.

Garden sundial
branch by branch
the slivers of day.

In the mirror
playing to an empty room
the pianola keys.

Public library
everything in the mirror
but the smells of the books.

In the mirror
the crescent moon raising
its scoop from the sea.

Mirrored
with moonlight
Venus in the lake.

In the mirror
a lightning clap
nearly fills the kitten.

Window mirror
sunflowers pollinating
into the wind.
