Tied to the wharf
history rocks
the windjammer.

Harbour fog
ghosts of a windjammer
following the lamp.

Windjammer deck
before the pelican
scatters the gulls.

A breathless dawn
the windjammer wheel
no one stands to.

Windjammer limp
only an albatross
circles and circles.

Apple trees
how gossamer under each
is the after-rain mist.

Sand castle
letting the children learn
how the sea takes.

Campfire
eye to eye
the tears of Gum leaf smoke.

Red flowering Gum
how the cicada has quietened
in the boy’s dirty hand.

Sunlit hills
the hawk and shadow
squeeze their prey together.
