along the dirt road
a scarecrow turns to point
the farm house I seek

apple blossoms
all those promises we think
of grandmas’ pies

turning to its music
the merry-go-round
after annual repairs

holiday house
following the sat-nav we
“Turn left at the next”

rain puddles
his bike dividing them
all the way to school

a road rage
winds down the gutters
swirling the leaves

a winter walk
but for the fog dripping
the hedges would be wraiths

in the Infinite stars
far beyond these Pacific waves
my Father’s village

another Monday gone
wheeling the rubbish bin out
into a billion stars
