the height
his joy goes

clouds on the window
a crow leaves
snow falling from a branch

Sunrise
unzips
down the hallway

cave drips
up-side down
with fruit bats

home from grandma’s
our bag of freestones
in fleshy yellow peach

first light
the weight of the world
… being clear

shampooed and tucked in
she repeats some lines
of last night’s story

migrating geese
the toddler points to
their flight-ways home

just dusk
the stars between
space and time

a hail storm
spins the scarecrow
to show all his anger
