the fullness of bodies
chewing gum.

Father looks away
so soon all her good-byes
from her wedding party.

Tourist town
exchanging trinkets
outside the gift shop.

His short apology,
and how the chocolates after
cling and cling.

Bell bird
refills the emptiness
of a whitening fog.

Frozen lizard’s
crawl to the sun
thawing her , thawing her.

It happened last night
grape vine just old enough
pregnant with buds.
