a bi-plane’s skywriting
out the window.

Bedside stories
the tot finding shadows
too like her dreams.

Between breaths
it came swooping from rain clouds
a wedge-tail eagle.

School holidays …
on their hop-scotch chalk
a stray curled dog.

Patio …
listening to the autumn
crinkle leaves.

Gold autumn leaves
a log in the river
hoarding its treasure.
