and prints in the snow
the leaves sniffed by a fox

mountain stream
unfolding the tent
from my journey

water-fall pool
washing the dust off
to leave us there

out of the Pines
how unhurried a fox slips
into the fog

log cabin
the joy of wren songs
opening dawn

stepping on river stones
a flash
of rainbow trout

just pushing
the leaves and twigs aside
mushroom heads

camp fire sizzles
our buttered mushrooms
in scents of the earth

lavender field
opening the scissors
from my backpack

stiff with frost
I lift the webs
she bobs under
