a sliver of moonlight
has crossed to the feet.

Intersection
vanishing from the centre
the glitter of shattered glass.

River’s edge
his dog retrieves
the school boy’s ruler.

Such unnatural desires
to reach the sun
Pine trees growing straight.

The full moon
gathering light
out on the sea another.

Sunset spreads
husband’s last coat of paint
to our front fence.

Sea waves
until one rises
merely the shapes of singing whales.

Rain all day
nothing for her
but the romance novel.

Mountain stream
how visible the brightness
you crossed on stones.

After snow
our crushed-brick paths
treading quietly.
