grey dawn
a drizzle of rain
the bird sings through

waterfall brook–
over smooth stones
the first light– colours

songs of dawn
the nestlings
don’t yet know

bird songs–
and we are both lighter
for our dreams

colours of dawn
all at once
the echo of songs

her songs–
to start the day
the magpie’s cracked egg

solitary faces
along the river–
I row into the sun

dolphins dot
the sunset waves
across our boat

visible
through the midday rain
tulips bending

she soars–
in the air of mountains
the eagle…cries
