ahead of us
the storm rushed clouds.

Ripe tomatoes
blood warm in the glass house
the winter sun.

The dam’s lake
sunset burning
canoe after canoe.

Streetlights
still wind ruffled
the quick red fox.

a raven caws
the way to the bird bath
is under snow

Tumbleweed
on tracks through the desert
finding the winds.

Pantomime – –
our daughter charmed
by stardust.

library book
the curl of pressed black hair
uncurls.

telescope moon
the pitted craters
of the ancient plains

in the midday lake
we fish at times
a snow-topped mountain.
