in the lover’s silence.

Rain puddles
the school boy running-in
his new shoes.

Pouring a white wine
the way her bracelet charms
tinkle our glasses.

Morning winds
all the yachts rocking
with their share of the swells.

Sunday’s alter
the candle for our sins
keeps blowing out.

In the chatter; the clatter
on her best china
mother’s friends.
