bending with snow
suddenly yellow.

The park’s doves
sharing loneliness
in my sandwich.

Theatre emptied
only the rain before us
to the car park.

Slender waterfall
her lip-licking sips
from my cupped hands.

Children’s beach
our ‘Come back out loves’
lost in the wind.

Being dawn
tree after tree
the shadows stretch.

Scotch on ice
the whisky-grained caw
of a crow.

Harvest moon
the tom cats frozen
with snarls.

Lift operator
whichever pretty girl
he coughs.

Zen garden
the cicada shrills too
diminished here.
