some hints of laughter.

Dentist
a cry too quickly muffled
behind the glass door.

Passing storm
the rainbow pulled tight
between horizons.

River walk
thrashing to the middle
the dog finds his stick.

Meeting old friends
our coffee-cup talk
in and out of shadows.

Old school rooms
the little sound of a boy
attending quietly.

Late night drinks
her flicking red hair
at his jealousy.

Dance class
then the Latin rhythms in
our long walk home.

Road curb
the old man squints
before his dash.
