Wolf whistles
faint rustles heard

Windmill in the sun
deep water spilling
cool to my hands.

Summer mornings
quaffing mashed iced mangoes
from a tall green glass.

Distant thunder
hailstones still melting
from the sparrow’s nest.

A dry wedding
the old sailor fidgets
inside his necktie.

Train platform
an ant crack just wide enough
in the slanting sun.

Footpath coffees
our sponge cakes coming
past a rubbish bin.
