a sudden sadness
to the stooping child.

our lay-in morning
with her wine and smoky breath.

Lily pad
in the frog’s eye
the dragonfly’s measure.

Exercise gym
all his hard work
stretching tattoos.

Grandparent’s day
tiny tickled giggles
from the bassinet.

August
rain mist slowly gathers
at the lily’s mouth.

Shoe shine man
another sneeze held
with his polishing cloth.

Mountain bath
little flakes of us in the stream
going to the sea.

Beneath the Gum trees
father’s tin shed
rusting his tools.

Vegetable garden
snowflakes with the cabbage moths
becoming cold.
