the canoeist bails
some rapids out.

Country town
train tracks leaving
the urge deep within.

Dog chain
the taste of his biscuit
a tongue away.

Palm reader
a strange disturbance
hand to hand.

Pleasure boats
below the harbour tides
their bottoms in touch.

Headstone
a crow shaking black rain
out of its coat.

Cafe’ breakfast
stirring around sunrise
the autumn winds.

Pointing for the child
along my arm
the Southern Cross.

Storm passing
a few sunflower shadows
drawn by the moon.
