your car parked by mine.

Damp with cold
our noses touching
another new year.

Hacienda heat
she brings us thin sliced figs
on a frozen white plate.

Winter mists
crossing the lake
with silent oars.

Country town
inspecting it
the rise and rise of the circus.

Moon-edged clouds
across the pond
the glitter of fireflies.
